A fire department responds to a call every 23 seconds. In 2017, there was approximately 357,000 home fires in the United States.

51.6 % of residential building fires are caused from cooking, as of 2017.

An estimated $25.6 billion in property damage occurred as a result of fire in 2018. (This number includes a $12 billion loss due to wildfires in Northern California in 2018)

74% of all fire deaths occur in the home.

Home fires were responsible fore 11,200 civilian injuries, or 74% of all civilian injuries, in 2018.
