Ozone vs Hydroxyl Deodorization:

SERVPRO of Tuscaloosa North carries both deodorization machines in our warehouse. Both machines are used for our heaviest deodorization processes. However, Hydroxyl is the only on that can be used without all the WARNING signs and the fear of someone entering the property before it has been cleared. The longer each machine runs, the better the deodorization process in the end. 

An ozone machine will remove odors faster but will slow down the process as the machine cannot be running while crews are working or any living thing is in the home or building. Hydroxyls will require a longer run time, however, the cleaning process on a fire can begin faster as the crews can also work in the building while the machine also works. 

Lasting smells are scars from damages, which is why SERVPRO of Tuscaloosa South recommends removing the odors verses masking them.
